Vous n’allez pas trouver des infos piquantes, des bio plus ou moins vraies, des actualités hors musique ou une galerie non autorisée : ce site est dédié à Amanda Lear, chanteuse de l'année 2010.

Brief encounters nait de la rencontre entre Amanda Lear, Star Internationale et le producteur-chanteur et auteur italien Deadstar.

La rencontre

Elle se fait par hasard dans un café de Paris. Une rencontre très positive car Amanda Lear et Deadstar ont le même but : enregistrer un disque avec des nouveaux titres (qu’ils ont co-écrit), et pour la première fois un double album avec 25 titres avec un clip vidéo.

Alain Mendiburu soutiens vivement cette collaboration et ce projet.

16 musiciens, un album "vraie musique"

Il s'agit de donner à Amanda Lear, l’opportunité de montrer "Amanda la vraie chanteuse". Pas de son de synthèse, de vraies guitares , des basses, des accordéons, des saxophones et un arrangeur italien d'exception : Nerio Poggi.

Amanda Lear a mis tout son coeur à ce projet, avec des sessions de plus de 12 heures entre les studio de Paris et Rome. Le résultat est sous les yeux et les oreilles de tous.

Ces titres sont très difficiles à interpréter et Amanda Lear en a fait des bijoux grâce à son talent de chanteuse et interprète.

L'idée nous est venue suite aux nombreuses demandes des fans.

C'est pour cela que nous avons pensé à une édition limitée, très limitée dirais-je!

La satisfaction de voir les gens heureux et d'avoir un objet unique qui va se valoriser dans le temps nous rend, à notre tour, très heureux !

Brief encounters nasce dall’incontro di Amanda Lear, Star Internazionale e Deadstar, produttore, autore, compositore e dj italiano…

L’incontro

Amanda e Deadstar si incrociano quasi per caso in un caffè di Parigi. Un incontro positivo perché Amanda Lear e Deadstar hanno lo stesso scopo: registrare un disco con delle canzoni inediti (che scrivono insieme), e per la prima volta un doppio album di Amanda Lear con 24 canzoni e un nuovo vidéo clip.

Alain Mendiburu, amico e collaboratore, sostiene fermamente questa collaborazione e il progetto che da li’ nasce.

16 musicisti: un album di “vera” musica

L’intenziuone dela produzione è di dare ad Amanda Lear l’opportunità di mostrare “Amanda come vera cantante”. Delle vere chitarre acustiche, un basso, e poi fisarmoniche, sassofoni, trombe, flicorni e un arrangiatore italiano d’eccezione : Nerio Poggi.

Amanda si da anima e corpo a questo progetto, con delle sessioni in studio di registrazione di oltre 12 ore, tra un aereo e l’altro, uno studio e l’altro, dividendo il suo tempo tra Parigi e Roma.

Il risultato è sotto gli occhi (e le orecchie) di tutti.

Queste canzoni sono molto difficili da interpretare e Amanda Lear ci restituisce dei gioielli grazie al suo talento di cantante  e interprete.

JGM si concentra sui suoi progetti in maniera completa.

Il nostro scopo non è unicamente di vendere un prodotto
ma, prima di tutto, quello di creare un prodotto artisticamente valido che soddisfi l’orecchio sottile dei nostri auditori. E’ per questo che abbiamo deciso di riarrangiare Brief encounters in una versione acustica che possa soddisfare anche gli amanti dei suoni piu’ puri.

Amanda torna in studio ancora una volta. Ma questa volta per registrare un album alla “vecchia maniera”.

Uno staff di 16 musicisti, un arrangiatore d’eccezione NERIO POGGI (tra l'altro co-arrangiatore e co-autore di alcuni brani di Mario Biondi), delle lunghe sessioni tra Roma e Parigi: Amanda divide il suo tempo tra Italie e Francia e mette tutta la sua anima e la sua energia in questo disco.

Una copertina elegante firmata Elio Leonardo Carchidi (Studio154.it, Roma), studio che vanta collaborazioni con attrici internazionali del calibro di Monica Bellucci. Un libretto con i testi accompagna il doppio cd.

Amanda ha comparato Deadstar a Peter Gabriel per la sua modernità. Deadstar, che conosceva bene il Personaggio Amanda Lear, ha voluto mettere ancora di piu’ in valore il suo talento di cantante.

Moltissimi incontri per scrivere insieme le parole delle canzoni, una collaborazione ricca, sostenuta e fortemente voluta dall’amico e collaboratore Alain Mendiburu (coproduttore di Je m'appelle Amanda, Let's love e Doin' Fine e del video di Doin
Fine).

Un nuovo album è previsto per Aprile con dei remix inediti di questo disco. Accompagnato da una copertina ultra moderna dell’artista Italiano EnricoVersus.

Uno spazio sarà dedicato ai fans di Amanda Lear: per la primissima volta una produzione apre le porte ai fans e agli auditori, dando la possibilità di remixare una traccia dell’album Brief enconuters RELOADED e di vederla pubblicata sullo stesso come bonus track e
con il proprio nome nei crediti del libretto!

The seeds for what was to become Amanda Lear's 15th studio album were sewn in summer 2008, following a chance meeting between Amanda and singer/songwriter/producer, Deadstar at a cafe in Paris.

Both had the same vision; to create a bespoke double CD album (the first in Amanda’s prestigious career) combining a total of sixteen live session musicians on a lounge inspired CD 1 (“For The Heart”) offset against the pulsating beats of the dance genre on CD 2 (“For The Feet”).

The album would contain classic songs that were of sentiment to Amanda plus a number of original new songs co-written by Amanda and Deadstar.  A stylish and classy album which married the arrangement talents of Nerio Poggi with the unmistakable voice of Amanda; this album gave Amanda the opportunity to be more herself, injecting her heart and soul into every recording.

Recordings began in November 2008 at studios in Rome and Paris.  The first tracks to be recorded were “Someone Else’s Eyes” a ballad duet with Deadstar and “Doin’ Fine”, with others following over the next few months.  Once complete, the album was previewed at the 2009 Midem conference to gauge industry feedback and reactions.

It was good!  “Someone Else’s Eyes” received unanimous praise and support and was naturally selected to be the lead single from the album.  “Doin’ Fine” was also positively supported and is a firm favourite of the JGM team.

Videos were shot for both “Doin’ Fine” and “Someone Else’s Eyes” and the latter was released as single in September 2009 a month ahead of the album release date on 16th October.  Three years had passed since Amanda’s last album in 2006 and “Brief Encounters” showcased a whole new musical persona for Amanda in an illustrious career that has spanned over 40 years and counting.

Produttore, compositore, auitore e cantante, Deadstar nasce innanzitutto come DJ.
La sua primissima esperienza è a Radio Rai International con Rossella Diaco: crea una rubrica B-Sides (lato b,dei vecchi 45 giri) per dare spazio agli artisti dimenticati dal mondo discografico e dal pubblico.

Certo che la discografia non  perdona nulla agli artisti, ridà spazio, spostando nuovamente i riflettori su di loro, a canzoni sconosciute o che sono state dimenticate.

Il programma è diffuso nel mondo intero a mezzanotte e Deadstar fa le sue prime apparizioni in diretta radio!

Le cose seguono poi incatenando gli eventi,e il caso fa che si ritrovi Deadstar a Radio Radio la domenica: un dj caustico, provocatore, e iconoclasta. Con l'aiuto del direttore artistico Francesco Vergovich e accanto ad uno dei dj e speaker piu' conosciuti sui network italiani, Leo Kalimba, propone ancora dei titoli pressoché sconosciuti ai radioascoltatori della domenica.

Passa subito dopo alla produzione di canzoni dance con lo pseudonimo di Alias D. (ovvero alias Deadstar), e si consacra anima e cuore alla produzione musicale di alto livello nel 2008, quando comincia a dividersi tra Roma e Parigi, città in cui vive dal 2005, per questo lavoro stupendo, pieno di passione e difficile che è la Musica!

Over the years there have been numerous websites dedicated to Amanda, mainly focusing on her past recordings and her private life.

This site has intentionally set out to be different; a true commemoration of Amanda Lear as a current recording artist and celebration of Amanda’s sensational latest album, “Brief Encounters”.

We shall be concentrating on the “Brief Encounters” trilogy- the original double album, the second edition “Acoustique” album and third edition “Reloaded” album.  In essence, the Amanda Lear of 2010.

Combining the talents of Italian arranger, Nerio Poggi (co-writer and arranger for Mario Biondi), PMG Music (the British production team of Carl M Cox) , Amanda returned to the recording studio in autumn 2008 complete with a 16 piece band to encapsulate a whole new sound for her.

Recording took place in Paris and Rome before the tracks were sent to their respective producers in England, Italy and Melbourne for mixing and engineering.  In the case of “Doin’ Fine”, a male choir was assembled featuring popular journalist and performer, Neil Sean.

 With a striking album cover courtesy of photographer to the stars, Elio Leonardo Carchidi, his studio having also worked with such great actresses as Monica Belluci, the album was released to positive reviews in October 2009.

This is the first album of its kind for Amanda and features 13 tracks from the original album all performed with live musicians in addition to 2 exclusive bonus tracks:

All wrapped up in a brand new 8 page booklet containing never before seen illustrations by Amanda which she sketched during her vocal recording sessions in Rome and Paris.

Our aim, above all, is to create music with an artistic panache and individuality that appeals to the broadest of tastes; hence our decision to develop “Brief Encounters” in three volumes of three different styles.  We only commit ourselves to projects that are imaginative and seductive to our audiences.  Therefore you can always be certain of an outstanding product every time.

 JGM is headed by Artistic Director, Enrico Petrelli and we work in tangent with a number of co-producers, in France, Italy and the UK who share the same principles to deliver quality music every time.

Brought together by mutual friend and collaborator, Alain Mendiburu, these two very unique performers were unified by an unparalleled common love for music.  Both Amanda Lear and Deadstar gave stellar performances on this evocative ballad, a rich departure from the usually high octave numbers Amanda is renowned for.

Written and produced by Deadstar and beautifully arranged by Nerio Poggi, the song received a rapturous response at the 2009 Midem conference in France and thus was naturally selected to be the lead single for the first “Brief Encounters” album.

Released in September 2009 as a special limited edition single, including a subtle but vivacious video, the song was also remixed by PMG Music in a contemporary dance and retro Hi-NRG dance style to suit the club DJ’s requirements.  These mixes plus some new ones are featured on the new album, “Brief Encounters – Reloaded”.

His initial forays into the media were as a reporter for Radio Rai International, where he produced a program entitled, ‘B-Sides’ in which he gave a platform for artists whose profile may have faded from the public consciousness.

The program was initially broadcast in a twilight slot but the beacon was well and truly illuminating numerous songs that had long been forgotten.  The format was picked up by another station, this time Radio Radio for a weekend show, where Deadstar was now employed as a DJ and known for his light hearted caustic and provocative broadcasts.

Teaming up with friend and Artistic Director, Francesco Vergovich and well known Italian music expert and commentator, Leo Kalimba, Deadstar provided audiences with a feast of one time forgotten classics that became remembered once again.

 Following on from this, he began to produce his own music under the pseudonyms, Alias D, Alias, AKA and his own nom de plume, Deadstar, which was embraced and proved to be popular across Eastern Europe.

Since 2008 Deadstar has been dividing his time working in both Rome and Paris where he is committed to crafting high caliber music productions.
